Traveling back to the 19th Century and the world of Robert Schumann
Sting has gone back in time once again and to the world of Robert and Clara Schumann.
Inspired by the love letters shared between the Schumann's, Sting and his wife, Trudie Styler, have created a video to tell Robert Schumann's story. The collaboration includes other musicians, opera singers, and British actor Derek Jacobi as narrator.
Entitled "Twin Spirits," the video will come out soon on DVD. Proceeds will go to the Royal Opera House Education Programme.
Sting also hopes to raise awareness and audience numbers for opera, in general, as well as attempt to remove the stigma that opera is only for the affluent.
