Meet A Farmer: Christina Hunter, Hunters Honey Farm

Hunters Honey Farm has been producing a variety of honey products on their farm in Martinsville, Indiana for over 100 years. Along with her husband Tracy, Christina Hunter is the fourth generation of beekeepers.

Her table at the Winter Farmers Market today includes everything from raw honey and honey comb to honey sticks and bees wax. The pollen she sells is a favorite of many customers who treat it like a multivitamin.

They harvest honey twice a year at Hunters Honey Farm, so this honey is what is left from the fall harvest. The bees won't start producing honey this spring until dandelions start blooming.

"It's agriculture, so we're kind of at the mercy of Mother Nature," she says.
