Advisory and Governing Boards

All meetings of the WFIU-FM and WTIU-TV Community Advisory Boards are open to the public; meeting times and locations are listed on our website or may be obtained by calling Radio/TV Services at (812) 855-8000.

WFIU and WTIU are governed by the Indiana University Board of Trustees. Meetings are open to the public and held bimonthly at campuses around the state. Meeting schedules, minutes, and agendas are available online.

Donor List and Political Activities

Your financial support of WTIU, regardless of whether it’s made online or by more traditional means, is a private transaction between you and the station. Your personal information will not be sold, shared or exchanged with other nonprofit organizations or third parties.

Local Content and Service ReportEvery public television and radio station who receives funding from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting is required to provide to its community an annual report on its content and services that serve local needs, including information about the impact of such services. Closed Captioning

All programming provided by WTIU Public Television (“WTIU”) complies with the closed captioning requirements established by the Federal Communications Commission as embodied in 47 C.F.R. § 79.1, including regulations concerning closed captioning quality. Programming provided by WTIU complies with these regulations by either: (i) satisfying the caption quality standards set forth in 47 C.F.R. § 79.1(j)(2); (ii) adopting and following the “Video Programmer Best Practices” set forth in 47 C.F.R. § 79.1(k)(1); or (iii) being subject to one or more of the captioning exemptions set forth in 47 C.F.R. § 79.1(d), including programming for which the audio is in a language other than English or Spanish and that is not scripted programming that can be captioned using the “electronic news room” technique; interstitial material, promotional announcements, and public service announcements that are 10 minutes or less in duration; and/or programming that consists primarily of non-vocal music.
