WFIU-WTIU News Wins Three Regional Murrow Awards

The Radio Television Digital News Association has been honoring outstanding achievements in electronic journalism with the Edward R. Murrow Awards since 1971.

The Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA) announced today that the WFIU-WTIU News team earned three regional Edward R. Murrow Awards.

WFIU-WTIU News received regional Murrows for Excellence in Writing, Investigative Reporting, and Sports Reporting.

Murrow winners represent work of the highest quality produced by radio, television, and online news organizations around the world. This year’s winners were judged in 14 regions and represent 309 local radio and TV newsrooms. WFIU-WTIU News competed in the small market radio division against newsrooms in the region comprising Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, and Ohio.

Regional winners automatically advance to the national Edward R. Murrow Awards competition. The national awards will be presented at the RTDNA Edward R. Murrow Awards Gala at Gotham Hall in New York City on October 14.
