Death Café

Death Café

Eat cake. Drink tea. Talk about Death.

A Death Cafe is a group-directed discussion of death with no agenda, objectives or themes. It is a discussion group rather than a grief support or counseling session.

Death Cafes have spread quickly around the world. Over 16,500 Death Cafes are held in 85 countries. It is all volunteer-run.

The Bloomington chapter is hosted by Rick Clayton, a hospice chaplain and musician who enjoys playing harp and cello for his clients. It meets monthly at Morgenstern's.

"The Death Cafe is a safe place for people who are dealing with the loss of loved ones, without ideology." - Rick
