On this installment of The Uncle Dan and Sophie Jam, recorded in March at The Jazz Kitchen in Indianapolis, take a creative journey in words and music with Dan Wakefield and Sophie Faught.

The veteran best-selling author and the saxophonist are joined this time by Mark Vonnegut, a doctor and the son of the renowned Hoosier writer Kurt Vonnegut. They’ll share insights into art, creativity, mental illness, and “the myth of mental wellness.” Vonnegut says, “the arts are both a reason and a way to get well.”

Aaron Cain hosts Morning Music weekdays from nine to noon, and is WFIU’s Music Director.
