This piece depicts its creepy-crawly subject in several clever ways, including mimicking the creature's unique sounds. Our jumpy little friend has also played the role of a certain boys "inner-voice," something the composer should have listened to. Not only was he known as a great composer, but he was also known as something of a prima donna, composing at his own will rather than that of his patrons.
