The Bleeding Heartland Rollergirls

If you watch us train, if you understand what we have to do to play this game, then I don't think there's any question at all that we're athletes, and that what we're doing out there is a legitimate sport.

The Bleeding Heartland Rollergirls is made up of two teams, the Flatliners and the Code Blue Assassins, made up of more than forty women who come from various walks of life.

The league eschews the pro wrestling style of the past, instead emphasizing strategy, athleticism, and sportsmanship.

In 2009 the league became a member of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association, making them eligible for regional and national tournament play and ranking, and they routinely play leagues from throughout the Midwest.
