Photomontagist Jerry Uelsmann

When I’m creating my work, I try to just be honest with what’s happening within me. To the extent in which you’re self-revealing, your life is better because you’re becoming more authentic.

Jerry Uelsmann's dreamlike images are composites made from multiple black-and-white negatives shot on film and processed with extensive darkroom work.

His prints have been exhibited in more than 100 individual shows in the United States and abroad and are in the permanent collections of many museums including the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
