Tens of thousands of public pension recipients will receive 13th checks this year after lawmakers approved a bill that one legislator said “corrects a wrong” from last session.

Many say the costs of living and goods have exceeded employees’ wages.

The new budget includes salary increases of up to three percent for IU employees. Inflation currently stands at four percent.
