In the last few years, at least eight different towns in Indiana denied rezonings for new Dollar General store locations.

The decision comes after Prairieton citizens expressed their displeasure in having a new store built in their town.

In the basement of the Prairieton United Methodist Church, the property next to the potential store site, about 40 people gathered to share their concerns with the developer and his attorney.
