Box said pregnant COVID-19 patients are admitted to the ICU twice as much as those who aren’t pregnant and are nearly three times as likely to be put on a ventilator.

State Health Commissioner Dr. Kris Box said the number of cases per day and average positivity rate is starting to come down. But she also said improvement won’t necessarily be steady.

Local health officials were optimistic; two months and more than $40 million later they’re losing patience.
