In 2021 there were 271 homicides and 324 victims of non-fatal shootings in Indianapolis. There are fewer homicides so far this year, but ongoing violence creates fear and depression among youth.

The St. Joseph County chapter of activist group Faith in Indiana held a town hall Sunday calling for state support of a “robust crisis response system.”
