Sen. Andy Zay (R-Huntington) said his bill to provide a state income tax deduction for pregnant people is about supporting expecting parents and families.

State Sen. Andy Zay said Wednesday that he will introduce legislation considering fetuses dependent children — allowing expectant parents to claim an income tax exemption worth $2,500.

The first picture an expecting mother is likely to see of her developing fetus is not, technically, a picture at all. Most likely, it's an ultrasound image, produced by technology that has more to do with hearing than with seeing.
