Bloomington city pools will be free admission on days with a heat risk index of category two or higher. Eight cooling stations are open throughout Monroe County.

Summer’s heat is here. Much of the Midwest, Northeast and mid-Atlantic regions are baking this week.

A forecasted heat wave is estimated to bring the hottest days of the year so far to Indiana. The National Weather Service says starting Sunday or Monday, Hoosiers are expected to see temperatures in the mid-90’s.

The fair this year will also be against a backdrop of potentially sweltering heat – which organizers said they’ve prepared for.

The forecast Friday is expected to feel like 102 F.
