Indiana Landmarks

The $100,000 grant comes with assistance from Indiana Landmarks to promote the director’s position, hire a qualified candidate, and begin implementing first-year goals.

The marker is thanks to efforts by the Black Heritage Preservation Program and Indiana Landmarks. The creator hopes to install more around Monroe County.

The annual list includes buildings of historical significance under threat of decay or demolition. To make the final cut, the structures must have a chance at revitalization, even if that chance is slim.
