The Indiana chapter filed an ethics complaint earlier this week accusing Diego Morales of using his position for self-promotion.

Indiana Secretary of State employees last week reported getting a “suspicious” envelope containing a “powdery substance” — joining election officials in multiple states.

The vote center model is an alternative to precinct-based voting. It allows voters to cast a ballot at a location of their choosing, regardless of their home address.

Diego Morales’ office said his trip to the Conservative Political Action Conference in Hungary on Thursday and Friday didn’t disrupt any election-related actions by the office. Democrats accused Morales of skipping out on his official responsibilities to join “fringe figures” in Budapest.

Republican Diego Morales continues to dodge public events that feature his fellow candidates.
