Police officers found the three adults dead after being called to the Oaks of Eagle Creek apartment complex on the city’s northwest side about a reported shooting, said Samone Burris with the Indianapolis police.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department identified the officers as seven-year veteran Keith Shelton, three-year veterans Joshua Smith and Joseph Reynolds and Dylan Sheets, on the force for two years.

Officers found the bodies of two men and one woman about 2:30 a.m. Saturday while conducting a welfare check, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
