Ticks carry diseases by biting infected hosts like deer, mice or rabbits. So just because you got a tick bite doesn’t necessarily mean that you’ll get an illness.

The council unanimously approved an ordinance prohibiting deer feeding within city limits. It goes into effect on Sept. 1.

Purdue University, Indiana University and the University of Notre Dame are all working to track how ticks and their diseases move across the state.
