It's been one year since the COVID-19 public health emergency ended. The Indiana Department of Health still posts weekly updates of new COVID-19 data, but one expert says those numbers aren't totally accurate.

The Indiana senator pointed to a “rising trend” in mandates being brought back at certain schools around the U.S.

The Ellettsville charter school was fined in 2021 for a resolution passed by its board not to require masks. Seven Oaks was the only Monroe County school found in violation of the health mandate.

Schools across Indiana have already started to lift mask and contact tracing requirements. A Regenstrief expert says there are positive indications that these actions are safe.
