Monroe County Clerk Nicole Browne has hired Kylie Moreland as election supervisor and Laura Wert as chief deputy clerk.

A committee wants to replace all current precinct-based polling sites in Monroe County with vote centers, sites where county residents can vote regardless of their precinct.

The local League of Women Voters chapter says it's concerned by Monroe County's current lack of an election supervisor.

Monroe County Clerk Nicole Browne said the request was prompted by an increased cost of living and a lack of employee pay growth.

Joe Davis says he collected 600 signatures but still fell short of the required 352 needed.

Board members discussed but ultimately chose not to refer the investigation to law enforcement — for now.

Wheeler served as election supervisor for more than eight years and said she hopes to continue working for the county.
