Night 'Moves': Bloomington Adult Club Reopens In New Location After City-Imposed Move

Bloomington adult club Night Moves reopens Thursday in its new location, further south on Walnut Street. The City of Bloomington bought its former location for $800,000 in 2017 as part of its plan to build Switchyard Park.

Owner Rodney Domer says Night Moves’ last night in the previous location was Dec. 30, 2019. He says he asked the city to allow them to stay through January, but was denied.

Domer says finding the new building was a lengthy process, thanks to the city’s restrictions on where adult businesses can be located.

“[The city] pretty much limited us to three and a half percent of the city – four percent, maybe,” he says. “And, you know, most of the spots weren’t viable.”

The new location is 3160 S. Walnut St., in what used to be the Spring Dry Cleaners building.

Domer says Night Moves has operated in Bloomington since the early 1990s. Domer became part owner in 2005.
