Monroe Co. Commissioners Issue Disaster Emergency Declaration

The Monroe County Board of Commissioners issued a county-wide Disaster Emergency Declaration and is limiting county employee responsibilities beginning Tuesday.

According to a news release, county non-essential personnel have been directed to work from home and parts of government buildings will close, including the Monroe County Courthouse, county offices in the North Showers Building, the Monroe County Health Building and Monroe County parks, excluding trails.

Those who need to contact county government should call or email the department.

Only essential and/or emergency hearings will be held at the Monroe County Courthouse. The Monroe County Airport remains open.

Additionally, the Monroe County Solid Waste Management District will continue to operate as normal, save for reuse sections of the waste management sites.
