Monroe County Public Library Branches Re-Opening Some Indoor Services

The Monroe County Public Library is re-opening some indoor services Monday.

Both branch buildings will open at 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. Monday to Thursday; 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday; and 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays.

Library officials say the first open hour of each day will be reserved for high-risk patrons.

The library reopened in September with a window service for browsing and computer use after moving to a curbside pickup model for checking out materials in the spring.

Starting Monday, both branches will allow visitors to browse inside.

In Bloomington, the building will have a capacity of 100. The Ellettsville branch will allow 40 people inside at a time. Both branches will ask visitors to limit visits to one hour.

While the library is lifting some of its most significant restrictions starting Monday, some places inside the building will remain closed for the time being.
