Indiana Reports 786 New COVID-19 Cases, 9 Additional Deaths

The Indiana Department of Health on Wednesday reported 786 COVID-19 cases and nine additional confirmed deaths.

The latest data brought Indiana's total case number to 663,511 and the total death toll to 12,200.

In Monroe County, the total COVID-19 case number rose by 20 to 10,363, and the county death toll stayed the same at 163, the department said.

Some 81,148 Monroe County residents have been tested, it said. 

As of Wednesday, 731 patients were hospitalized statewide with the virus.

Wednesday's numbers showed that 6% of the state's 2,186 existing ICU beds were being used by patients with COVID-19-related illnesses, while 34% were still available.

And as of noon Wednesday, 2.3% of the state's 2,786 total ventilators were being used by COVID-19 patients, while 79.7% were still available.
