Long COVID is a chronic condition in which symptoms last for over three months after a COVID-19 infection.

The Indiana Department of Health (IDOH) reported 878 cases and 15 new confirmed deaths Friday, with a seven-day all-test positivity rate of 3.2%.

That brings the state totals to 676,247 cases and 12,510 confirmed COVID-19 deaths.

Monroe County reported 21 new cases and no new deaths, bringing the county's totals to 10,621 cases and 166 confirmed deaths. The county's positivity rate remains the same at 0.5%.

Hospitalizations across the state decreased to 595.

And as of Friday, 915,719 Hoosiers are now fully vaccinated. That’s an increase of more than 25,000 in the past 24 hours. In Monroe County, 18,380 people have been fully vaccinated.

Indiana has begun to lag other states in getting people vaccinated for COVID-19 - and officials say that’s in part because the state isn’t getting as many doses.

Hoosiers age 45 and older, along with healthcare workers, first responders, long term care residents, educators and school support staff are currently eligible to receive the COVID vaccine.
