Monroe County Full Vaccinations Pass 33,000

Tuesday's update from the Indiana Department of Health (IDOH) shows 33,417 people have received full doses of COVID-19 vaccines in Monroe County. 

Monroe County administered 807 second doses and 832 first doses of the two-shot Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines in the last 24 hours. As of Tuesday, 26.1% of Monroe County's population over age 16 has been fully vaccinated and just over 42% has received at least one shot.  

Across the state, IDOH reports 20,768 more people have become fully vaccinated, with nearly 1.6 million Hoosiers now fully vaccinated against COVID-19. 

IDOH also reported 733 new positive cases and eight confirmed COVID-19 deaths Tuesday, bringing the state totals to 709,455 cases and 12,826 deaths. 

The statewide seven-day all-test positivity rate remains at 5.2%. 

In Monroe County, officials reported 16 new cases and no new deaths. County totals are now 11,484 cases and 166 deaths. The county’s positivity rate is at 1.3% for the seventh day in a row. Area hospitalizations decreased by five to 25.
