Schools across Indiana receive bomb threats, switch to e-learning

This is a breaking story. It will be updated.

The Henry County Sheriff's Department said the Shenandoah School Corporation received a message in Arabic which translated to: "One of your schools has a bomb inside. It is well built, solid and discreetly located. Considering that today is your last day, I think it is appropriate for you to pray to God. Allah is the greatest."

Sgt. John Perrine with the Indiana State Police (ISP) confirmed that statements he received from other school districts contained similar messages in Arabic, but that he couldn't speak every district affected. Perrine also stressed that the authenticity, credibility and source of the threats had not been confirmed.

Schools across the state received bomb threats Thursday night, and some will be canceling classes today.

MCCSC said that none of its schools received the threat, but its School Resource Officers were “monitoring the situation.”

Local police departments, the ISP and the FBI are investigating the incident. According to a release from the ISP, “at this time no suspicious or explosive devices have been found in any of our schools.”

Perrine told WFIU News: "Each school district is handling it differently, there’s not one large blanket investigation occurring, we are utilizing our resources and our intelligence folks to attempt to track down the origin of the threat, however, we do not have a list of every school they received it at this point."
