One of the American Songbook’s bluesiest and jazziest composers, Harold Arlen gave us beloved hits like “I’ve Got the World on a String,” “It’s Only a Paper Moon,” “Stormy Weather,” and, of course, “Over the Rainbow.” From New York’s Cotton Club to Broadway and Hollywood, Arlen teamed up with lyricists like Ted Koehler, Yip Harburg, and Johnny Mercer to create some of the most indelible songs of the 20th century.
