Biomimics: Scientists Who Study How Nature Does Things

Biomimics

Biomimics are scientists who study how nature does things, and try to copy it. They say that anything we needenergy, shelter, materialswell nature needs them too, and has already figured out a better way to get them. After all, they say, nature has had 3.8 billion years of design experience.

What Do They Do?

They want to copy nature's great materials, but even more important, is to learn how nature makes those materials. We humans make them with lots of heat, chemicals, and good ol' brute force. Too much energy and waste.
