Monroe County and the Town of Ellettsville are collaborating to ensure Rural Transit can continue to provide certain trips in 2024.

The project still in its early stages. Several details have yet to be worked out, including where the development will be built.

Approval of spending on those incentives was part of an ordinance to appropriate a total of $4,035,551 from four different funds.

Lawrenceburg enacted a similar assistance program in June and July 2020.

Mayor John Hamilton and police chief Mike Diekhoff did not speak during Wednesday’s meeting but expressed concerns in a joint statement issued prior to the meeting.
