The school board agreed in a meeting Tuesday that the merger starting next fall would not be feasible.

In outlining their guidance, trustees said the Templeton-Childs merger should increase early literacy rates, improve students’ social emotional health and decrease opportunity gaps.

The Monroe County Community School Corp. is hosting two community meetings to hear from parents about the proposed merger of Childs and Templeton Elementary schools.
