The merger is one potential solution to balancing socioeconomic disparities in Monroe County schools.
At the January school board meeting, some parents expressed concern for the disruption the merger would cause for student learning. Others said redistricting the schools was not an effective solution to balancing the socioeconomic problems in the schools.
The meetings will take place Wednesday at Jackson Creek Middle School and Thursday at Templeton Elementary. Both meetings will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Childcare will be available.
Speakers must sign up prior to 5:30, and attendees must pre-register through an online form. Those who can’t attend can email comments to comments@mccsc.edu.

The school board will use comments from these meetings at their next meeting in March.
