The Bloomington Board of Public Works approved two contracts with Williams Tree Company for storm cleanup during Tuesday’s meeting.

Any phone that is on, in range of an active cell tower and is under a supported wireless carrier will receive the test message.

Firefighters from Indiana are flying to Hawaii to assist with search and rescue efforts resulting from the wildfires in Maui.

The forecast Friday is expected to feel like 102 F.

FEMA reported over $8.3 million have been distributed to Hoosiers in the wake of the storms and over 2,000 people have applied for help. 

Employees of FEMA, IDHS and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) will help visitors file assistance applications and connect with resources, according to a press release.

Federal aid is available for those affected by the severe weather March 31 to April 1.

The White House urged residents who sustained losses to apply for assistance online, by calling by calling (800) 621-3362 or by using the FEMA app.

Senator Todd Young (R-Ind.) visited the site of the destruction on Monday. He said he’s working to get an expedited federal disaster declaration for Indiana.

FEMA hasn't yet approved maps on Indiana's floodplain portal, but the Indiana Department of Natural Resources said it can be used for "general planning, construction and development purposes."
