The city announced the finalized design will be built at the north end of the park now that the Board of Park Commissioners has approved new construction contracts for the project.

The City’s Board of Public Works has again postponed voting on a land and sidewalk closure request for the project.

Mayor John Hamilton says the plans for the gateways are funded by Bicentennial bonds passed in 2018.

The Bloomington Bicentennial Gateway Project will bring a monolith-style gateway to Miller-Showers Park this fall.
