Graduate student government issues resolution on Kinsey Institute

The GPSG is advocating against the administration’s plan from last fall to create a 501(c)(3), separating Kinsey administration from the university.

The Indiana Graduate Workers Coalition held a rally Thursday, asking graduate workers to sign union cards.

The announcement from the university came 12 days before the Graduate Workers Coalition is scheduled to vote on a strike in the fall.

IU Bloomington is waiving a fee it charged international graduate workers, which was one of the key demands of the Graduate Workers Coalition.

Coalition members said these victories were won by the collective action of graduate workers, the spring semester strike and by the strike they plan for the fall.

IU to hike minimum stipends, waive mandatory fees for grad workers

The university will increase minimum stipends for graduate students to $22,000 and will also cover the $1,435 those students pay in mandatory fees along with course-specific fees.
