In Indiana, there are at least over 400,000 individuals who are deaf and hard-of-hearing, according to the Indiana Association of the Deaf.

An unnamed Indiana University student reported receiving a racist text referencing slavery, matching similar reports around the country.

An officer first addressed the crowd, gathered on both sides of the Eagleson bridge south of 7th street, and asked the protesters to remove the tent.

University authorities urged IU students and staff to seek shelter early Saturday, after Bloomington police received reports of gunfire. Authorities later said there were no reports of injury.

Police say the men aren’t connected to two shootings that began off campus an hour earlier. But the officers were responding to a call from a person at a campus residence who believed the men were involved.
