Bloomington Police sent officers to the area but didn’t locate any victims or make any arrests, according to a spokesperson.

"We received several 911 calls reporting shots fired in the area,” BPD spokesperson Ryan Pedigo said early Saturday.

“Witnesses on scene advised responding officers that they had seen a male wearing a blue jersey firing rounds from a gun into the air. Officers did locate a few spent shell casings which were collected for evidence,” he said.

“Officers did not locate any victims or damage at the scene from the rounds being fired and failed to locate anyone matching the description of the suspect.”

Thousands of visitors were in Bloomington over the weekend to attend the annual Little 500 bike race and late-night events on and off campus.
