County declines Seven Oaks' request for COVID funds after school failed to follow local rules

The Monroe County Health Department received $440,000 in American Rescue Plan funds at the end of 2021 for local schools to use on COVID-related expenses.

The school opened for the 2021-22 academic year Aug. 11 and was cited by the county health department Aug. 19 for $250. It filed an appeal Aug. 25.

County Health Administrator Penny Caudill wrote the citation eight days after the school opened for the academic year. She said the next step is a Zoom hearing between school administrators and county commissioners next Wednesday.
