The National Weather Service said the East Fork White River at Shoals isn’t expected to crest until early Friday Morning and won’t fall below flood stage levels until around April 17.

The East Fork White River is expected to crest at 31.7 feet Thursday. On Monday, it was at 24.8 feet.

Indiana ranks in the middle of the Rural Capacity Index with 56 percent of communities below the national median. Plains states such as the Dakotas, Nebraska and Kansas sit in the bottom 10. 

Martin County EMS confirmed one death and one injury as of 2 p.m. Monday: a husband and wife in the same home south of Shoals.
