Two new developments in Bloomington are moving forward with approval from the city’s plan commission.

The project is slated to finish in March 2026.

The fair is aimed at undergraduate students still looking for a place to live next school year.

The next step in the process is a grading permit review, which can take up to a year.

The building would include a mix of studios and one-to-five-bedroom units for an approximate total of 427 beds.

Construction will begin in November and finish by August 2024.

The site plan meets all the requirements in Bloomington’s Unified Development Ordinance, but commissioner Ron Smith expressed concern with the proposed color scheme.

University Properties plans to demolish the existing units in Feb. 2022, and complete construction on its new building by August 2023.
