A Brown County business will host the community’s first-ever gaming conference this year.

Toy Chest Owner Hilary Key says retail shifts and a huge increase in game sales over the last couple of years encouraged her to come up with the idea for the conference.

"For a lot of people, you think toy store, you automatically think kids, when realistically you should never stop playing," Key says. "Play does so much great things for our brains both as kids and adults."

Key says she's seen a lot of increased interest in games from millenials over the last several years. The conference will offer a range of games for everyone, from toddlers up to strategy style games for adults.

"The goal was to make it family friendly and adult friendly, so whether you bring your kids or you don’t have kids or you choose to leave them at home," she says. "So that either one of those options you have a good time."

The event will take place the last weekend in March, with the bulk of events happening on the Mar. 30. Key hopes it becomes an annual event.
