The film, Ms. White Light, is also featured in the Heartland International Film Festival.
The film, featuring Judith Light and John Ortiz, is about a young woman who counsels terminally ill patients that have a hard time letting go.
“There’s not a lot of full humanity when you see that in film a lot and I wanted to show that side of it,” says Director Paul Shoulberg, who lives in Brown County.
Pigasus Pictures began its business three years ago in Bloomington and has already produced three award-winning feature length films, including the Good Catholic. Producer John Armstrong believes the support from a small town like Bloomington gives the company the ability to compete with largescale film markets.
“With the rise of online digital platforms there’s a place for companies like ours to really play in the space,” says Armstrong.
Viewing of Ms. White Light begins at the Buskirk-Chumley Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings. There are additional shows Saturday afternoon, Sunday morning and evening.
