Construction At Sare Road, Moores Pike Limited To Sidewalk, Will Be Complete By Year's End

City officials say construction at the intersection of Sare Road and Moores Pike in Bloomington is limited to the sidewalk and does not include the road.

Crews are working to install a sidewalk on Moores Pike between College Mall Road and Woodruff Lane.

A Bloomington resident recently asked City Limits about the project, adding, “I'd like to suggest while the road is torn up adding a right turn lane for westbound traffic on Moores Pike at the intersection with Sare/College Mall Rd.”

City Senior Project Engineer Neil Kopper says people can always contact the  project office with questions, but road renovations aren’t part of this project.

“As a part of this sidewalk project, we’re not changing the lane configurations at that intersection, and [we] wouldn’t be able to do that, either," he says.

Kopper says construction in that area should be finished by the end of the year.

Correction: A previous version of this story incorrectly named Sare Rd. as the location under construction rather than Moores Pike.
