The trial of a man accused of torturing and confining his pre-teen son in a Bloomington hotel room before the boy died has been pushed back to May.
The Monroe County Prosecutor’s Office charged Luis Posso with murder, battery and other charges last year after he and his wife, Dayana Medina Flores, brought 12-year-old Eduardo Posso to IU Health Bloomington Hospital, where the boy was pronounced dead.

Court documents said Eduardo died after being denied food over a period of time while restrained with cords and padlocked chains. Police say during questioning both parents denied withholding food from the boy, but Posso did admit to engaging in physical abuse.
Detectives say the family was staying at the Economy Inn on South Old State Road 37.
Posso’s trial was previously set to begin April 9. Prosecutors are seeking life in prison for both Posso and his wife, who was Eduardo’s stepmother.
