Kroger Restricting Hours At All Midwest Locations Including Indiana

Nearly two-thirds of households in the survey said they don’t currently participate in the state’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. Of those who reported this, 50 percent said they did not apply because they did not believe they were not eligible for benefits.

Kroger is restricting hours at all its locations in the Midwest including Indiana.

Beginning immediately, stores will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

In a statement, Kroger says this will allow staff to restock and sanitize stores.

"Our supply chain teams are working tirelessly to ensure that food, medicine and cleaning supplies reach our customers as quickly as possible," the statement says. "The change will also allow even greater attention to cleaning our stores."

Also Sunday, Walmart announced it was altering its hours for many stores.

"Walmart stores and Neighborhood Markets will be open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. until further notice," it said. "Stores currently operating under more reduced hours (for example they regularly close at 10 p.m. or open at 7 a.m.) will keep their current hours of operation."
