38th Annual Taste Of Bloomington Canceled, Organizers Say

The Taste of Bloomington festival, scheduled for June 20, has been canceled due to coronavirus concerns, according to a news release from organizers.

Ron Stanhouse, Taste of Bloomington board co-chair and Bloomington Independent Restaurants Association President, says the board met last week to make the call.

Stanhouse says board members considered rescheduling the local food showcase to a later date, but that there are too many moving parts.

The Taste usually draws between 10,000 and 15,000 people, depending on weather.

Stanhouse says plans are in the works for a yet-to-be-announced June 20 online promotional event for local restaurants instead of the usual Taste festival.
