Daybook: Kokomo LGBT Ordinance And March Madness

WFIU | By Sara Wittmeyer
Published June 26, 2020 at 2:15 PM EDT

Good morning! Follow our reporters for stories developing throughout the day:

  • The Kokomo City Council voted 5-4 last week in favor of an ordinance expanding civil rights protections to LGBT individuals. The ordinance will receive a second reading tonight. If the council approves it again, it could be signed into law. Follow Steve Burns ( @ StkBuRNS) for updates from tonight's meeting.

    • March Madness is officially here and the Hoosiers are ranked number five in the East bracket. They'll face number 12 Chattanooga Thursday. A win could put them on track to face Kentucky if UK beats Stony Brook. You can follow @Joe_Hren for updates throughout the week.

      • Vandals spray-painted the Indiana University sample gates this weekend. Police are looking for the suspects. Barbara Brosher is following up on the investigation today. Follow Barbara for updates @BabsofBTown.
