Indiana's High School Graduation Rate Dips

The Indiana Department of Education released the 2015 high school graduation rate today. The four-year graduation rate for all Indiana students slipped by less than one percentage point in two main categories.

Indiana's waiver rate, which includes a small portion of students who received a waiver from some requirements, is 88.9 percent.

The rate for students who did not get a waiver is 82.8 percent.

Indiana's Superintendent of Public Instruction Glenda Ritz says while she is pleased with progress in schools, there's still work to be done to close achievement gaps between student populations.

The state's two largest school districts also saw declines. Indianapolis Public Schools' graduation rate sits at 70.9 percent; Fort Wayne Community Schools at 86.8 percent.
