DePauw University, with a total enrollment of just under 3,000 found itself in unusual company on the Princeton Review's list of top party schools. The private school ranked 15 th on the list… that's one spot ahead of Indiana University. Vice President of Communications at DePauw University Christopher Wells said some schools may laugh at their inclusion on the list.
"We are the only small school on that list, and I would say the social life here is fairly typical," said Wells.
Wells said many schools have issues with being on this list, calling it mysterious and lacking in methodology. On its website, the Princeton Review says it takes in to account hours spent studying, prevalence of drugs and alcohol and popularity of the Greek system. Wells said while no school really wants to be on the list, he isn't concerned about DePauws reputation.
"We are not happy about it, but DePauws reputation is certainly I think a school where students are doing serious academic work and creative work," said Wells. "I think we will survive being on this list."
While Indiana University ranked 16 th on the Princeton's party school list, it also won accolades for having one of the best college theaters.
